JOY de ROSE is an award winning composer, electronic musician, multimedia artist and scientist. Early on, she had a fascination with science and human biology, pursued medicine and became a dermatologist. But her thirsty for artistic and creative work has redirected and immersed her in music and multimedia art.
Majoring in Electronic Production and Design at Berklee college of Music, has allowed her to understand the timeless connection between art and science. She enthusiastically explores the endless possibilities of artistic expression through cutting edge technology. While studying at Berklee, she received Berklee Achievement Grant, Imogen Heap Award and Instruo Electronic Music Award, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Through combining art and technology, she strives to create immersive art experiences and she explores immersive technology to combine art and medicine. Her area of works encompasses electronic production, algorithmic composition, multi-channel audiovisual installation, interactive live performance and creating immersive digital environments including virtual reality as multisensory art experiences.
As an award-winning artist, her works have been presented at Mass MoCA Museum, at Fridman Gallery in New York, at Old South Church in Boston and at 10.2 Multichannel hall at Berklee in Boston, and her collaboration includes Dream Machine project (Nona Hendryx, Mi.Mu Gloves and Chagall), INNOVATE Concert (Laura Escude, Rachael Z Hakim, Moldover), Mass MoCA Hexadome Project (Berlin ISM), Chiaroscuro (Neil Leonard), and many more.
Her virtual reality Immersive experience “AURORA” won multiple awards: International Music Video Award and International Sounds Future Award, and was selected at multiple international film festivals including Montreal Independent Film Festival and Venice Shorts Film Awards, and this VR project was presented at Game Sound Conference 2022.
Her music from her album “Chiaroscuro” received Global Music Awards 2022.
She is currently based in Los Angeles, where she continues her eclectic electronic production and immersive media art creation and live performances in collaboration with artists in various fields.
