JOY de ROSE builds Sonic Worlds
where the unseen becomes felt and
the impossible becomes real.

JOY de ROSE is an award winning composer, electronic musician, and immersive multimedia artist operating at the frontier of art, science, and technology.
Originally trained as a dermatologist in South Korea, her fascination with human biology and perception evolved into a new discipline — one where spatial audio, generative systems, and extended reality become the instruments of transformation.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music, she received the Imogen Heap Award and the Instruō Electronic Music Award for her work in Electronic Production & Design. Her flagship project AURORA — an immersive audiovisual experience merging data sonification, live electronics, and generative visuals —has earned international recognition, including the International Sound Future Award and International Music Video Award, and premiered at the Dolby Atmos Auditorium in Seattle.
Her latest work, Who Am I, is an immersive audio album created in collaboration with Sony 360 Reality Audio, exploring identity and transformation through spatial sound. Featured at Sony Pictures, the NAMM Show, and Sony's Immersive Creator Experience, it has been considered for the 2025 GRAMMY Awards for Best Immersive Audio Album.
Beyond her solo practice, she has developed large-scale installations at MASS MoCA's ISM Hexadome, co-created the Dream Machine project with Nona Hendryx, and exhibited at Fridman Gallery (NYC) and Old South Church (Boston).
Based in Los Angeles, JOY de ROSE continues to push the edges of immersive storytelling — building worlds where sound becomes space, and space becomes experience.

“Innovative and revolutionary—yet rooted in timeless beauty and deep emotion."
JOY de ROSE left behind a life of structure and certainty to follow a sound only she could hear.
That sound became story.
That story became frequency.
That frequency became a world.
She translates the unseen into the felt.
Through electronic soundscapes, immersive technology, and the raw intimacy of her voice,
she creates experiences that don’t just entertain—they transform.
